Bukittinggi Lovely Town

Bukittinggi is a city located in western Sumatra. This city is a haven of all people who are in Sumatra, both from Aceh to Lampung. if you want to go to jambi you can through Bukittinggi.

Bukittinggi is divided in 3 subdistricts (kecamatan), which are further divided into 5 villages (nagari) and 24 kelurahan. The subdistricts are: Guguk Panjang, Mandiangin Koto Selayan, and Aur Birugo Tigo Baleh.Bukittinggi is connected to Padang by road, though a dysfunctional railway line also exists. For inner-city transport, Bukittinggi employs a public transportation system known as Mersi (Merapi Singgalang) and IKABE that connect locations within the city. The city also still preserves the traditional horse-cart widely known in the area as Bendi, although the use is limited and more popular to be used as vehicle for tourist, both domestic and foreign.

1  .       Jam Gadang

Jam Gadang

     Jam Gadang is a clocktower and major landmark of the city of Bukit Tinggi, West Sumatra, Indonesia. It is located in the centre of the city, near the main market, Pasar Atas, and is a tourist attraction.Around the Jam Gadang many bendi-bendi ( Horsecar) there who are willing to take us around the Jam GadangThe structure was built in 1926 during the Dutch colonial era, as a gift from the Queen to city's controleur. It was designed by architects Yazin and Sutan Gigi Ameh. Originally a rooster figure was placed on the apex, but it was changed into a Jinja-like ornament during the Japanese occupation of Indonesia. Following Indonesian independence, it was reshaped to its present form resembling traditional Minangkabaun roofs (Rumah gadang). It is said to have cost 3,000 Guilder.

Clock structure

       Each clock face has a diameter of 80 centimeters. Its base is 13 metres long and 4 metres wide, and it stands 26 metres tall.One unique feature of the clock is that it uses "IIII" for the number 4 instead of the traditional "IV". Based on a local story, the figure four made of four vertical lines represents the four persons who died while constructing the building.Roman numberThe laying of the Jam Gadang cornerstone was done by the 6-year-old son of Rook Maker, the city secretary of Bukittinggi at the time.

2.       Ngarai Sianok (Sianok Canyon)

Sianok canyon is a steep valley (cliff) is located in the border town of Bukittinggi, the IV Koto district, Agam regency, West Sumatra. The valley is long and winding as the southern border town of Koto Gadang canyon to the villages Sianok Anam Tribe, and ended in the district Palupuh. Sianok canyon has beautiful views and also one of the flagship attractions province.

Ngarai Sianok is a canyon that formed many years ago. Below this canyon there quietly flowing river. Sianok canyon has very beautiful scenery, around the canyon is no place for recreation such as Taruko, and much more.

3.    Lubang Japang (  Japanase's Cave )

Japan Cave is a Ccave made in the Japanese colonial period in Indonesia. These caves are made for Japanese defense forces.

This cave was made translucent to various places in New York City, there are translucent in Bukik Apik, Panganak, and in Ngarai  Sianok, Gaduik.

During the Japanese occupation of this hole is also in use for the jail

4.    Jembatan Limpapeh

Limpapeh bridge is a bridge in over Ahmad Yani street, Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, Indonesia. This bridge has a length of 90 meters and width of 3.8 meters. 

Jembatan Limpapeh ( Limpapeh's Bridge) is the link between Taman Marga Satwa Bundo Kanduang (TMSBK) to Fort de Kock

1.     Rendang

Rendang are made with beef that cooked with coconut milk.  Rendang have been set as THE MOST DELICIOUS FOOD version of CNN. if you want to cook rendang you have to set up your time because it would take a little longer. 

2.      Sanjai Balado

Sanjai are made with cassava in thin slices. When the sanjai is cooked the sanjai will coated with red chilli and the sanjai become “Sanjai Balado”
